Digital signage for Marks & Spencer

In 2012 Marks & Spencer needed a Digital Signage solution to broadcast content to screens in their outlets. They chose Instoremedia.

After an exhaustive selection process, we are proud to be the software vendor for Marks & Spencer. Since 2012, the installation has grown to encompass outlets all over the Globe, featuring HD screens, 4K video walls and interactive displays facing both customers and staff.

Instoremedia powers Digital Signage in this deployment with its Enterprise Digital Signage interface.

This features a modular CMS, with both Playlist and Meta-Data rules based scheduling, comprehensive diagnostic modules and remote hardware management. The scheduling protocol makes deploying content extremely efficient and easy to manage.

The high level of system integration means that Marks & Spencer can monitor the system from one end to the other from within the User Interface using minimal resources.

The content displayed on the screens is a mix of standard movie formats (MP4 and WMV), dynamic templated content (WPF or Flash) and images.

The system is hosted in a customer data centre. This was an important feature, although Instoremedia also has a cloud hosting option for those who need it.

Instoremedia is also hardware agnostic. This important, flexible feature gave Marks & Spencer the option of choosing hardware separately from the software. Currently the system is configured using Media Players from MediaVue and a range of HD professional displays from NEC.
